The 8th annual SCALE Users’ Group Workshop at Oak Ridge National Laboratory was held as a hybrid meeting on June 5-7, 2024. A total of 166 participants from 85 organizations in 21 countries attended the meeting.
The meeting included 32 presentations and 14 hands-on tutorials on impactful and innovative applications of SCALE. This year, the Special Session of invited talks included speakers from the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), Sandia National Laboratories, University of Tennessee-Knoxville, and X-energy.
Participants were invited to contribute with presentations and discussions on impactful and innovative applications of SCALE. The SCALE Open Mic technical session was open for users to discuss their work, with presentation slides welcome, though with no formal presentation required. Contributions to the SCALE Model Contest session required only a single page showing one or more images of a SCALE model. Participants had 5-10 minutes during the session to provide background on the model, present additional information as desired, and answer questions.
